“In the future. is there a possibility of the position growing and expanding?”

As appropriate follow-up on the answer with additional questions. You need to determine the specifics of possible growth of the position. Also this will help you get a better idea regarding promotion opportunities within the company. If the job, in the future, looks static with little room for growth you need to know this. All this information will help you make a decision if offered the job.

“When do you expect a hiring decision will be made?”

Ask this question at the conclusion of the interview. Learn who you should follow-up with. The answer to this question will give you information when to make your follow-up calls and who to call. Hopefully, you’ll be looking at other prospective jobs and this information will help you in your decision-making process.

Asking questions during the course of the interview will establish you are engaged and give you a better feel for the job.
