As of 2012, words like ‘creative, organizational, effective, motivated, extensive experience, track record, innovative and responsible are considered taboo for using on your LinkedIn profile.
  • Connections and groups – This may seem innocuous, but be mindful of the people and groups that you have listed on your profile. If a potential employer sees your connections and groups scattered across completely unrelated industries, it will fail to impress him, the idea being that you aren’t focused enough.
